The
original artwork chosen for this year's Capitola Begonia
Festival Poster is a hand colored linocut. Similar in technique
to a woodcut.
Liz did the sketches for this festive entry above Soquel
Creek in order to show the Nautical Parade incorporating
this year's theme "Capitola Jungle Safari." In
the background you see the many spectators lining the creek
banks, the Stockton Bridge and the village of Capitola. |

the Artist... Liz
Lyons Friedman is an award winning artist who has been exhibiting
since the seventies. Her work has been chosen for book covers,
commemorative posters and numerous publications. Liz moved
to this area in 1986.
Liz's artwork has been featured on five Capitola Begonia
Festival Posters since 1990. |
